There are a number of ways to find Special Collections materials.
- Library Catalog
The Atkins Library Catalog is the first place to check for information on Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Local Documents.
- Advanced Search Option: to limit searches to Special Collections materials, use the advanced search option and limit the Location to "Special Collections."
- Collection Inventories and Finding Aids
Detailed inventories for our Manuscripts Collections are available
online (both linked to the library catalog record and searchable
on our website). These inventories are descriptive tools which
serve as the primary point of access to archival collections.
A description of the different parts of an inventory is available
as a PDF
example.
- University Archives Holdings
This alphabetical list details the records held by the University Archives. The list is organized by office or department name, with subcategories listed below.
- Oral History
Oral histories that have been digitized can be searched and accessed
via New South Voices.
Interviews related to your topic, which have not been digitized, may be available for access in the Special Collections Reading Room. Please contact Katie McCormick for more information.
